Most people say they don't want to take cars to a dealer to sell but we had our 08 tt listed on kijiji for 2 months at 23k and people were offering 18.. Took it to Volkswagen dealer and they sold it in a week on consignment and we got a check for $23k.

VW dealers will sell your used car on consignment without buying a new car from them? Do tell... what kind of consignment fees are we talking here?

They sold ours. It might depend on the car you have. If you have something that will attract people to their lot (like an r32) I'm sure they'll take it on consignment. They said if they made $1000-$1500 they would be happy so they asked us what we wanted and we said $23k and they sold it for $26k and wrote a check for 23. I'm happy because it was listed for months and nobody wanted it privately for even $20k.

Moving at the end of the week and would love to be down to one car, so I'm dropping the price by another thousand dollars. If it doesn't sell I guess I'll just tuck it away under a cover, which would be a real shame.
