1990 Volkswagen Corrado G60 (1.8L Supercharged)
Manual Transmission
275,000km on Odometer
Car is located in Victoria BC, Canada.
I don't know much about the history of this car as I've only had it a couple months and have haven't even insured it in my name yet. What I do know:
- It's 25 years old, it’s not perfect.
- At some point it had the engine fully rebuilt and bored out for larger pistons. (Unknown details or when).
- It has had the supercharger replaced (Unknown when).
- For what it's worth, the previous owner was a HD mechanic.
The PO used it as his daily driver until he recently bought his wife a new car and himself a new truck. I was going to use it as a daily while I work on my S2000, but picked up a cheap civic and don't have the space for a 3rd car at the moment.
To get the money thing out of the way… I’m asking $4000 obo.
Keep in mind I’m throwing in LOTS of spare items that are becoming harder to find for these cars. I’d put a rough value on the spare parts alone at about $1200 and another $1200 in coil overs and headlight setup.
The Good:
- Brand new front brakes (hoses, calipers (black), rotors, pads). Value $400
- Brand new rear brakes (hoses, calipers (black), rotors, bearings, pads). Value $450
- H&R Coilovers. Value $750
- Smoked E-code headlights with badges grille. Value $500
- Brand new Interstate battery. Value $120
- Eibach front strut bar, not installed (very rare!). Value $400
- Brand new coolant flange on radiator
- Brand new coolant sensor housing
- Shaved front bumper.
- Rota 5-spoke wheels with almost new tires.
- Rear spoiler functions.
- Black headliner with full black leather interior. (Black dash and all parcel trays come with car, but aren’t installed).
The Bad:
- Sometimes the starter doesn’t engage. Needs new or rebuilt.
- Small P/S leak at the rack. (Comes with replacement steering rack).
- Bushing in left lower control arm broken/clunking.
- A/C didn’t work and was partially uninstalled. (Comes with non-AC fan box and new heater core).
- Sunroof is weak/slow. (Comes with spare sunroof motor, if that is the issue).
- Window regulators were fried. (Comes with brand new updated aftermarket ones, but are uninstalled). Value $300
Other parts that come with sale:
- Spare G60 engine.
- Spare alternator, couple of intake manifolds and throttle bodies.
- Black Samco coolant hose kit (except upper and lower rad hoses (they got modified for the old rad so are no longer good)).
- Spare flywheel and clutch kit.
- Have a full exhaust with like new (~1000km) on new CAT and Walker OEM replacement muffler.
- Spare fenders, spare hood, spare headlights, spare rear bumper (all getting harder to find).
- Spare gauge cluster (Not the same as the one installed, but you may be able to put the light up needles and gauge faces in the current one).
- Spare rear KYB shocks (like new) with stock springs.
- Spare full manual seatbelt setup.
- Spare side mirrors.
- Spare wiper motor.
- Box of spare fuses, switches, relays, clips, buttons, etc.
- Bag of OEM wiring connectors for making custom harness etc.
If you’ve read this far, thank you. I write a lot so there is very little to ask about.
This car would be great for someone who wants a slight project to pick away at, but it is TOTALLY drivable as is. Should have the control arm bushing changed and a wheel alignment sooner than later but other than that, everything could be worked on slowly.
Please e-mail me with any questions as I don't come on here. sagz_lafrance(at)hotmail(dot)com
If you are interested, we can go from there.
All 4 wheels are now matching (same ones as the rear), pics were taken Monday, swapped wheels over Tuesday.
