    Re: FT: C4 Corvette Sawblades w/ Adapters

    Thanks for all the info Sean, I actually was mistaken, my tires are a 40 series. I just checked, but I get what you are saying. These are just the tires they came with. I think I would want to be on the larger side of the wheel/tire diameter rule. How do you calculate that?

      Easiest way to calculate it IMO is to convert everything to mms. 1 Inch = 25.4mm

      Therefore, say you want a 225/45 tire:

      17" wheel = 431.8mm
      sidewall = 225*0.45 = 101.25 x 2 (for full wheel diameter) = 202.5mm

      Wheel/Tire diameter = 431.8 + 202.5 = 634.3

      Desired size at 25.3 Inches = 642.62

      So you would still be about 8mm shorter than desired, however when you divide that by 2, you will hardly notice a 4mm difference top to bottom.

      Trust me, it took quite a bit of calculation to figure out what tire size I wanted to run on my E30, but with enough research, you can do a taller tire stretched and still make it look great!
