  • FT: C4 Corvette Sawblades w/ Adapters

More of a feeler as I don't have a problem continuing to run these because they look downright gangsta BUT I would consider almost anything 18/19x8/8.5/9/9.5 just to change things up. Bolt pattern must be 5x112 because I am sick of adapters.
I will post pics tomorrow after work when I get a chance.
Very minor curb rash on two wheels (I sanded it down/polished them a couple months ago)
    Specs as follows:
    Fronts: 17x8.5
    Rears: 17x9.5
Offset is 58 (I think, don't quote me)
    I have 33mm 5x100 adapters and 20mm 5x112 adapters.
Tires in the front have 1-2 seasons left tires in the rear have about 3 seasons left.
Tires are all Goodride SV308 215/35/17

PM me if you want, if not that's cool too

Your going to need different adapters.

Unless he still has his old ones

I don't really want to sell them due to lack of funds which is why I'm looking for a straight trade lol, just want something bigger. These were the prefect size on my mk4 but it's hard to drive my audi slammed on 17s

How is it hard? It is all in the tire size, not the rim size. If anything 17's are better than 18's for rubbing with aggressive fitment

Sean is right, you are running a tire that is too small for the car, stock size is 235/45/17 giving you a roiling diameter of 25 inches with a 215/35 your rolling diameter is 23 inches.. a proper tire size will raise the car up and you will be able to raise the suspension a bit as the tire will fill the wheel well better.

not saying there is a right or wrong way to do it I'm sure your car looks great as it is but its just good knowledge to have.

I'm not worried about tire rub. That's all part of the fun of fitment. It's because sitting on 17s at a moderately low height my subframe and control arms and all that stuff sit so close to the ground that I'm getting worried that I might start doing damage that I would rather not do. I also don't want to run stock tire size because that would look stupid and gay. An 18 or a 19 with a low profile tire would still look good, would fill out my wheel wells better and would make my car a little more driveable overall.

Running stock sized tires would look far far far far far far far far better than running tires which are 2 series too small. The wheels IMO do not suit the car with the current offsets and tire size.

To each his own, I like the way they look but I'm more concerned with driveablility and I don't think that a 45 profile would look good at all. My winters are 45 profile and they are way too big to run on these. Sawblades look best with low profile and stretch and while that worked for me on my GTI it doesn't on my audi.

You're, looking at it the wrong way, i get it you want fitment hell look at my car im running 10's in the rear with a 225 40, and 9's upfront with a 215 40 but my stock wheel size is 17 and I'm running 18's which will raise the car, you want stretch on a 9.5 run a 225 40 or a 225 45 either will still raise the car and give you a chance to raise the suspension because the beefier tire will fill the wheel well that much better, the problem here is you stuck with a stock size wheel (17 inch) and are running rubber that is too small, if you want to stick with 17's you need a larger tire so you can enjoy driving the car.

like i said there is no right or wrong here, i think wheels and tires are the toughest thing on a car but this knowledge should help you make a decision.

Good thing you are a body work guy and not a wheel guy.
How to explain this...ok here is a try...your wheels (rim and tire together) are far too small for the size of your wheel wells. As Jon said above your wheel wells were designed to look good with 25.3" diameter wheels (rim and tires again) and by putting a wheel (rim and tire together) with a 22.9" diameter the wheel well seems very empty and it seems like you are missing something. Because you are missing something.
Now what you need to do is fill out your wheel well more. This is a combination of both the rim size and tire size. No matter what rim diameter you pick, your overall tire diameter should be between around 24.5" and 25.5" or your wheel (rim and tire together) will look either too big or too small.

You can pick a 215/45/17 to get a bit of stretch and still be a reasonable size if you want to stick to 17's.
If you move up to 18's, you typically go down a series size, and can go with a 215/40/18 and have a very similar diameter to the above.
If you go up to 19's you can typically go up yet another size and go with a 215/35/19 and have a very similar diameter to above.

With all 3 above combinations your wheels in your wheel wells will not look too big or too small. But you must learn that rims and tires must be selected based on each other and relative to your stock wheel (rim and tire together) size or something is just going to look off about your wheel setup.

That is a very basic wheel (rim and tire) rundown, hopefully in the future it helps you to select the correct tire size for your car for it to perform and look good.
