So it's time to do some spring cleaning. There's a long list of stuff for sale. Parts are used unless otherwise stated. No guarantee on parts, sold "as is". No pics available, unless otherwise stated. First come, first served. Post in this thread if you want something, or if you want to come and look at anything. "I'll take it" reserves the part, cash is king, EMT is queen. I'm not going to ship individual parts, but if you want several parts I may be willing to ship. Local pickup preferred. What kind of transmission is the TDI? Any idea of what is damaged or useable?

What kind of transmission is the TDI? Any idea of what is damaged or useable?

It's an 02J. I haven't pulled the trans apart to have a look at the internals, but the hole is in the final drive wall. The trans still drove and shifted when I pulled it out. I assume some or all of the final drive is screwed, and that some of all of the rest of the gearbox is usable.

If you happen to take the tranny apart I'd be interested too. I wouldn't mind a blown final as I'd probably put a taller gear in.

Everything is being sold "as is". If you want to take a chance on the trans internals, I'm betting much of the gearbox is in good condition. A rivet in the final let go, which is what blew the hole through the wall. That's about all I can tell you.
