I've had this car for some time now and had intentions of getting it to a reliable state for my daughter. As lots of us have experienced, plans have changed and I'd like to get the car out of my garage. I have the spare time to part it out, and am well aware I could probably break even to what I've put into it at this point, but if someone is interested in driving it away I'm completely up to that as well.
1984 VW Cabriolet
1.8L JH engine.
Sprayed by the PO in Mexican Beige.
Very little to no rust, non visible at least, solid shell.
Mileage unknown, interior was swapped to a westy interior in dark red, as well as dash and cluster.
Has an electrical draw somewhere I think, never tried to find because it needs a new battery anyways
No muffler, loud as hell.
Vacuum leaks are present for sure, I have new gaskets for the intake and exhaust manifolds but I'm sure there are more. It idles pretty poorly and will stall if you do not give it quite a bit of fuel to get it moving.
Hood mounts are bent, hood latch failed and flew up on the highway.
Top is not in good shape, rear glass is mint.
That's all I can think of at the moment. I will take pictures this afternoon when it warms up. I'm just trying to make what I put in back out again which isn't much. It will drive you home for sure, I picked it up in Lethbridge and drove it to Sundre approx 4 hours away without a hiccup.
$800 OBO or I will start parting it out if I get interest in parts. (living in Sundre restricts part delivery to certain days, I will do my best to accommodate)
