ahah not just some reason, lol. so did you get everything installed lastnight?

Yes the stalk is installed and working, as is the temp sensor. Got everything right the first time, never happened to me before.

It wasn't too hard, just took a while because of everything involved.

First, you need to actually make about 5 custom wires using the VW repair wires. I am not too handy with a soldering iron, (to say the least) so I had to go slow. You could speed this up by using ghetto wire connectors or tape or something I guess.

Next, you need to take the airbag, steering wheel, and steering wheel electronics harness off completely.

You also need to remove all the panels from the steering column, the dash panels under the steering column, and of course remove the cluster and take apart the wiring harness.

You need to run a wire through the firewall, and another to ground for the temp sensor. Fishing the wire through the dash to the right location is a pain.

Then you need to get these stupid invisbile plugs out of the blank spots on the cluster wiring harness. Its a big pain. Then you need to run your custom made wires down the steering column and up from inside the dash, which is also a pain and you need to do it 4 times.

After all that, your car looks like hell, but you can basically just plug in all of the wires, and re-assemble.

Some odd tools you should DEFINITELY have on hand are some tiny flat-head jewler's screwdrivers and also a T55 Torx for the wheel removal.

I'd be happy to help, I could probably do it a 2nd time in only a couple of hours.

Where did you run the two ground wires to? Did you bring the ground from the OAT sensor through the firewall and then ground it? That's really the only thing I don't understand about installing all these parts.

I plan on making wiring harnesses here soon, but don't want any wires to be too short...

besides the mount for the OAT, you'll see a screw going into your frame, its a torx, which holds the rebar, just unscrew it, wrap the wire around that, and screw it back it, works for me, and its grounded good. its only like 15cm or so.

I just grounded the 2 necessary wires to the nearest possible bolt. I only needed about 3 inches of wire.
