GLWS Nick. Shocked that you're even putting up a feeler. Did you by chance find a shoe that fits better?
Honestly, no specific plans. Just ideas. I still love this car and I would exclusively sell it to someone in the community as I may want to buy it back someday! I've no intentions of listing this anywhere else because no one is going to understand why some crazy fool spent so much $ building a golf If nobody bites I'll probably go Stage 3 to keep myself interested.

I'd rather see you keep it! Then you definitely need to take me for a ride in it when it's stage 3! haha

Hi all. I just want to politely inform anyone that is interested in discussing this car that I didn't list the price because I sincerely don't have one as this is a feeler. I'm willing to discuss this topic by phone or in person but this should not be the primary objective of your call. All I can say here is that I'm $70k+ in to this car and the selling price will be less than this. I'm only interested in selling to someone who specifically wanted to go down this road and do a build of this kind on a golf R. I don't want to discourage anyone from contacting me to enquire about the car, but if I feel your just badgering me about price, I won't respond.
Sorry, I don't mean to be a rude here. And I apologize in advance if I seem rude towards you Nick or if people you know find this post disrespecful.
Anyways, the majority of car forums with for sale sections out there have always been filled with feelers, for sale ads, etc with lacking info. How are people supposed to look seriously into any vehicle without things like PRICE? Many of these for sale forums have RULES, where the post must include: make, model, kms, price, etc. In any other forum this thread would be deleted by the moderators.
Another thing, if you wanted to sell your used car for the new price plus the sum of your modifications ($70,000) put it in the first post. If you wanted to sell it for $50,000 put it in your first post. At least we know where your at price wise. There is a big difference!
Next, don't disrespect potential buyers because we ask you for your asking price. I don't think asking for your asking price is badgering, when you haven't listed one?? Are you honestly waiting for somebody to email you and say, Hey Nick, I love your car I would like to buy it from you for $70,000 and Hey! While your at it I'll bend over so I can take it up the aXX while I'm at it.
Check out the emails between us:

Let me know of you'd like to talk further.

Some people price there cars plus the value of the mods some don't do it as much as others. But I understand what your saying but it is quite hard to figure out what your asking price is. I have a range in mind that you could be thinking but really who knows. And realistically how can I have a serious conversation without knowing how much you want for the car? It would be different if the car in question was really rare and wanted but it's not... You know want I mean?
So I would like to know what your asking price is so I can give this a serious thought. I know it is a solid looking car... I would like another! Originally Posted by jacktown - This is not the car for you. Move on.

You should change your user id to jackA$$.
I already have a golf R with mods on it. Love my car. How is yours not the car for me? I'm honestly looking for another for my wife.
I just wanted to let potential buyers know what they will be dealing with if they decide to look at this car, let a lone ask for his asking price.
I still think he's a done an awesome job on it!
Oh and if anybody is actually interested in a car like this check out this Stage 3 Golf R built and owned by CTS Turbo themselves, a solid shop out of BC. http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Volkswage...howcpo=ShowCPO
Not as show as Nick's but sure can go.
Even if it is a Feeler - Having a price for people to even consider is important. I mean why not share a price? if its 70k it's 70k. Saying you won't give a price is ridiculous. Any person should know full well what they want for their car. If you don't - then why even post up.
Just sayin. Anytime I want to buy a car no matter what it is... price is usually the first thing that allows me to know if its even worth discussing or inquiring about. This isn't dubai and we aren't some shiek's who is gonna be like oh that Adventador, I'll take it. Without even considering what the price is.

Honestly, I felt uncomfortable with how focused you were on price when you sent your second message so I did a little digging through your previous posts and found some comments that made me decide I didn't want to enter in to a transaction with you. I hope that anyone who reads this can appreciate that I'm in sales as a profession and so it's very natural for me to filter which clients that I want to work with and which ones I don't. Old habit. For an example of what I'm referring to, please refer to a comment you made on someone else's for sale thread on October 1, 2011. Also, please note that I did not attempt to publicly humiliate you and label you a jackass for that comment.
Additionally, you're not the only person who has sent me "how much is it???" emails. I gave the first few visitors a price and subsequently got in-to ******** conversations about how mods apparently became instantly worthless as soon as I attach them to my vehicle.
The last comment I made on this thread was a polite notice addressing this situation without naming any forum members publicly and I think it's shameful that you would broadcast our private message conversation.

Ponto, I don't have any beef with anyone here. I had my reasons and your comment is clearly based on 50% of the story that you read above. All I want is to be able to have a legitimate conversation, probably on the phone, with someone who wants to ask more than one question about the car. If someone was seriously interested they would be asking for my phone number. Not writing entire paragraphs in my inbox about why they want to know my asking price.
Thanks for the analogy though. It's pretty funny. I just don't think it applies very well here.
