    Pictures to follow!

The asking price is $5000 ONO
Here is one of the cleanest and mechanically sound GTI’s for sale in Calgary. I currently don’t have a replacement so I am in no rush to sell so no low ballers but price is negotiable, I won’t respond to unreasonable offer, so don’t make too low an offer if you are genuinely interested!
The car is a 1996 VW GTI with the 12v VR6 engine the first of the OBD2, the best sounding VR6 in my opinion. It has 188,XXXkm (the cluster has been changed with another VR6 it so reads 20,000km less than it is, so the car displays 168,XXXkm). This car has been very well looked after by the previous owner, and myself. The previous owner bought the car under the recommendation of a VW tech that was familiar with the car. It has only been used in the winter for the last two years, one of which it got taken out approximately 10 times and washed thoroughly. This previous winter it washed approximately every second week. It has always been stored in a garage, as far back as I know of the history of the car. I have maintained the car myself for the most part, as did the previous owner excluding the Chains, Guides and Clutch. I have no receipts as I do most of the work myself and pay in cash otherwise. The car has only seen mature owners, who baby the car even when letting an enthusiastic streak out. It is solid quick car with a great sound. I had the car dyno’d and it pushed 178 bhp and 185 lb.ft it has only been given premium fuel. There is a slight bit of rust on the hatch but I have kept an eye on it. The front and back bumpers need to be repainted; repairing this will leave you with an immaculate car!

    Upgraded / aftermarket parts:
Cold Air Intake (fitted outside of the engine bay)
    ECU Chipped
    JOM Coilovers
    MagnaFlow Cat-Back Exhaust
    Full Interior swap, upgrade
20% tint on all side windows
    Halo Headlights
Aftermarket Alpine Deck with upgraded speakers
Stainless Steel Brake lines for the front (not installed)
    Stainless Steel Door Pins
Badgeless front grill that is not painted and I have the original as well

    Maintenance:
Carried out prior to the previous owner (and the reason the technician recommended the car):
    Clutch 160,000km.
    Timing chains and guides 160,000km.

Carried out by the previous owner.
    OEM Valve cover gasket replaced
    OEM Intake manifold gasket replaced
OEM Intake manifold and throttle body cleaned
Control arm bushings replaced (upgraded with performance bushings)
    Control arms sanded and painted
OEM Drivers side axel replaced (boot was ripped so just got a whole axle)
OEM New driver’s side wheel bearing (it wasn’t rotating as smooth as it should have been, and was just replaced anyway)
    Starter Motor
Major coolant pipe replaced (old one was cracking)
Front Brakes replaced discs and pads

    Maintenance that I carried out
Royal Purple Synthetic (continued from what the previous owner used) Oil Changed on every 5,000km mark
New K&N filter added to the existing Cold Air Intake 185,000km
    Alignment 186,000km.
Crack pipe, thermostat housing and other small components 187,000km
    Fuel filter 188,000km

    Comes with:
New slotted rear brake discs and pads

Optional extra (at full cost price)
There is currently a 300mm momo team steering wheel in the car, it has been used less than 1,000km I have already got a use for it elsewhere so there is no room for haggling on the price with this item, I have the stand wheel that comes with the VR6’s to put back into it. This is another $350 adder!

I'll get some pictures up this evening. It's white, with a small few tasteful mods.

normally i wouldn't comment on a for sale thread but you should have spend money fixing up the body instead of mods. sorry, but if you want an honest opinion, we will gladly give it to you. car looks hack and bagged on. sorry, but GLWS.
you probably don't like me because someone else said they didn't lol. <3

Re: Mk3 Golf GTI VR6 FS

Like above, if this was all original (granted a suspension drop is always a nice touch) and had good paint, no rust, a lip, present rear wiper, I would say the $5k price tag may be attainable.

When modding a car, you can never expect to get your money back.

                Do you have interior pics?

Re: Mk3 Golf GTI VR6 FS

If anyone not interested in the car would kindly keep their criticism to themselves.

I'm open to offers with regards to the price.

As for the mods almost all of them were done by the previous owner. I added the momo wheel which is an option with the car. I have the lip.

I'll put up pictures of the interior tonight

Respray the bumper covers and front grill and it's good to go, a lot happens in 16 years, I'm impressed that all the rub strips are still in an and in place. GLWS

Re: Mk3 Golf GTI VR6 FS

I don't know why everyone is so mad about the asking price. Most people start high and is either hustled down or reduces price eventually. Bump and GLWS. I would buy it if someone would buy my audi.
