Pictures to follow!
The asking price is $5000 ONO
Here is one of the cleanest and mechanically sound GTI’s for sale in Calgary. I currently don’t have a replacement so I am in no rush to sell so no low ballers but price is negotiable, I won’t respond to unreasonable offer, so don’t make too low an offer if you are genuinely interested!
The car is a 1996 VW GTI with the 12v VR6 engine the first of the OBD2, the best sounding VR6 in my opinion. It has 188,XXXkm (the cluster has been changed with another VR6 it so reads 20,000km less than it is, so the car displays 168,XXXkm). This car has been very well looked after by the previous owner, and myself. The previous owner bought the car under the recommendation of a VW tech that was familiar with the car. It has only been used in the winter for the last two years, one of which it got taken out approximately 10 times and washed thoroughly. This previous winter it washed approximately every second week. It has always been stored in a garage, as far back as I know of the history of the car. I have maintained the car myself for the most part, as did the previous owner excluding the Chains, Guides and Clutch. I have no receipts as I do most of the work myself and pay in cash otherwise. The car has only seen mature owners, who baby the car even when letting an enthusiastic streak out. It is solid quick car with a great sound. I had the car dyno’d and it pushed 178 bhp and 185 lb.ft it has only been given premium fuel. There is a slight bit of rust on the hatch but I have kept an eye on it. The front and back bumpers need to be repainted; repairing this will leave you with an immaculate car!

OEM Intake manifold gasket replaced
OEM Intake manifold and throttle body cleaned
Control arm bushings replaced (upgraded with performance bushings)

Major coolant pipe replaced (old one was cracking)
Front Brakes replaced discs and pads
Maintenance that I carried out
Royal Purple Synthetic (continued from what the previous owner used) Oil Changed on every 5,000km mark
New K&N filter added to the existing Cold Air Intake 185,000km
Alignment 186,000km.
Crack pipe, thermostat housing and other small components 187,000km
Fuel filter 188,000km
Comes with:
New slotted rear brake discs and pads
Optional extra (at full cost price)
There is currently a 300mm momo team steering wheel in the car, it has been used less than 1,000km I have already got a use for it elsewhere so there is no room for haggling on the price with this item, I have the stand wheel that comes with the VR6’s to put back into it. This is another $350 adder!
