  • VW door switches

This is the micro switch that is screwing your door ajar lights, if you can't lock your car properly or you door sensor is going you need a new one, I fixed mine with these genuine Shanghai-VW micro switches, they work on B5 Passat, MK4 Jetta and Golf. The switch come with a clamping thing and heat shrink tube too so you don't need to solder, just cut off the old switch and clamp the new one on. $10 each, I have 2 for drivers side and 2 for passenger side.

Pics? I looked at replacing just the switch and it looked like a mess.

This is a good item. I fixed mine with a $2.50 micro switch from the source. But it required a lot of cursing and trial and error to get it in the right position.

damn I need a drivers I think...my only issue is the drivers door doesnt lock with the fob..it unlocks it fine..and the car arms but that drivers pin just wont go down...you can even hear it trying...as a matter of fact every once in a blue moon it works. Frustrating! I've taken the door panel off and watched it could'nt figure it out. Wonder if this is the fix I need?

it won't fix it, most likely the plastic arm that moves the door pin broke or didn't hook on the metal stick properly. it broke on mine and it doesn't lock properly.

There are solder issues with some locks too. Mine generates a fault code too.

If a pre2002.5 car's door locks don't work properly, it is usually the solder joint and the switch. The newer ones is just the switches.
