Should only be a TD engine(AAZ). Tdi didn't come out until about 98 in those cars i think. Regardless it's diesel and will run forever properly taken care of. GLWS.2004 Jetta TDI Sport-Daily

Yup you're right. 93-97 had the AAZ 1.9 TD engine, 98-99 had the AHU 1.9 TDI engine and 99.5-2003 had the ALH 1.9 TDI engine ect....Originally posted by Kane View Post2001 Jetta TDI GL Silver

Unless it was a passat, they came with TDi's starting 1996 and ending in 1997.
Back to the car, most are easy fixes and you should be able to get this car out in a hurry. If $$$ wasn't tight I would probably take this and run a SVO kit in it for next to free transportation.Ben

Thanks, I have '93 TD IDI Golf too and the under body is getting super rusty. I put brand new engine in it just over a year ago so I need a new '"skin" for that engine.Comment

No idea about the Km's. I could take a picture of the cluster. I'm pretty sure the cluster is wrong.
It could probably make the trip but you run a high risk of the serpentine belt snapping because of the shot tensioner.Justin
