I fully understand, however the nickname still makes absolutely no sense and very few people (unless they know about engines) know about it. I always prefer people referring to items by their proper name so there is no confusion later on in discussions that might occur.

Also, there's a couple cars I've seen around that are for sale and not on kijiji.

92 GTI - I have the sellers info, but i can vouch for this guy. Solid car, repainted, one of a kind snowflakes, swapped 16V, interior is IMMACULATE, spring kit, mechanic maintained and <200,000kms. Asking $5200 with wheels, or trade for an f-250

90-91 Jetta GTX Shell - 8V engine and tranny starts and runs, interior and some gauges etc have been ripped out. Corrado TSW's, minimal rust, lowered on springs, Easy turn around. $250

97 Jetta TDI - Rebuilt head was all i gathered from our conversation, i imagine injector pump was done as well. 79,000 kms, not sure on price

Pet peeve - when people refer to stuff by nicknames which make absolutely no sense. Use the proper terminology

Fun Fact: The name, "disco potato" comes from the car the turbo was originally on. A guy at Garrett built a special turbo for a prototype Nissan Sentra. The car was painted a metallic brown color so they called the car the disco potato and the turbo they developed for it was the gt28.
