Believe it... they are a fantastic car! Probably why I'm not overly bothered that mine hasn't sold yet.

And yes, definitely get these things looked at before purchasing. I would also caution you if you're out there looking to buy the cheapest RS4 you can find. You'll pay for that dearly in the first few years of ownership. For example, mine has had over $10K worth of proative maintenenave done on it in the last 24-36 months. In summary: You get what you pay for!

even if you find an immaculate RS4, set aside at least a couple Gs to invest right away. I found mine for a good deal but have invested almost $10k in about a year of owning it on just regular stuff like brakes, control arms and some other regular items.

But my god is it the best thing i have ever owned by a long shot. I get compliments all the time from people who have brand new Audis. The B7 RS is just a timeless car and i think it will hold its value for a long time to come

Seems like a good price especially given the kms. Too bad they didn't make em with a 6 speed.

I was looking at some at home in Ireland for my sister. Max price on mint ones was between $3,500-4,500.
This whole bring cars from Japan to Vancouver, then charge costs X 4 is so transparent that anyone who pays that money is a fool.

The price doesn't seem that out of line. Not sure what your definition of mint is but here is a list of S3's on Mobile.de with less than 125K km's on them.

Prices range from 7K euro (for a rebuilt one) up to 19K Euro's. Most over 10K euro, that's $10K to $27K Canadian before shipping and taxes.

Getting one out of Japan can be slightly cheaper but you're still looking at about $3000 on top of the purchase to get it into Canada. I guarantee this guy is not making 4X his investment. I'd say he's in it for $11K-13K.

I've had some experience with Japanese imports with my RS2 and my S4 Avant and they are kept in much nicer condition than most N.A vehicles. Just check out the undercarriage and you'll see the results of never being exposed to snow and ice. The suspension on my RS2 and S4 are still black (no rust). And most Japanese cars are very low mileage.

There is a premium to be paid for rare exclusive cars. Haven't seen any S3's in Calgary yet and they've been eligible for a couple years now.

I'd take one over a Golf R32 anyday. A TT with the same drivetrain is still a $10000 car with low mileage.

I agree i dont think that price is that bad. I would pay 15 for it forsure! Actually thought about contacting him when i sold the a4. But was worried about the difficulty of finding body parts if things went wrong.
