    Re: GB: Euro Clusters

Sorry for all these questions Bart....

So if I get the half MFA, will I need a new stalk to access the MFA functionality? If so, that's another $150, plus installation, in which case I might just go for the no MFA option.

      no problem.

mfa will work without extra parts, but in order to get the out side temperature to show, you need to buy the sensor, and in order to switch between the menus, you need the stalk. otherwise, the temp will read --.-C and you will be stuck on one menu. that is the case with me now, as i have not purchased the extra parts yet.

Just out of curiosity, what is the install like in these for a 2003 1.8T? Is it plug & play once you get it mounted, or is there more to it?

I am thinking about the NA half mfa.

gaffer the install is pretty easy.. a year ago nobody knew what the hell they were doing so it was hard as hell but now its simple.. i believe you have to (unhook battery obviously) remove steering wheel take out a few screws remove old one insert new one reattach everything then just program it with the VAG and program your Keys to it with a vagcom too. .bart is a pro at it so if a bunch of us get them we'll all have the knowledge on how to do it afterwards plus we can make it a cluster install GtG haha

Well dammit, I can feel my suspension & chip money burning a hole in my pocket for this one, but I think that I will have to pass in favor of a new suspension & chip (when C1 gets APR). Still those are pretty sweet.

When you flip the cruise switch (not activating it with the set button, just turning it on) there's a green CRUISE indicator on the dash. Some safety thing I suspect so you don't set the cruise accidently with the wheel buttons (impossible anyways). I mean, it doesn't tell you if cruise is engaged or not, just that the stupid switch is flicked. Really annoying at night on highway.

huh? mine doesn't do that.. if i turn on cruise with my switch then push the button on my wheel i get the word 'cruise' lit up but thats it.. unless i'm blind and never noticed it but i don't think so

yes this happens on my car too. there is no way to change it, unless you want to take the led out.

gaffer: i have taken my apart about 5 times now, and installed and taken it out of the dash about 10, i can do it very easily now. the swap is simple, doing all the extra wiring is another story, as i have not done this yet.

usually things take a while the first time around.

OK, WE NEED ONE MORE PERSON.

if that happens, the 5th person gets $50 off, and so does everyone else, be a good samaritan!
