                      the m3 is smg........

                      pat,
have u driven a newish bmw in winter?
the traction control is VERY good, and they arnt that fast, so it would be pretty decent
                      BUT
i find that everyone and their dog has a e46 m3.....
and the stockish m3 is boring as hell to drive

No I haven't. Thats good to hear. Just figured coming from an S4 and STi you'd be expecting AWD traction.
I know I could never go back from AWD for winter. Especially in Calgary.

Wow, thats super low km's for a 2002. $19k isnt bad either for the km's but gotta factor in its a 10 year old car now

the best part about the Subaru, is the adjustable center diff, it allows for 50/50-35/65 tq split.
SUCH a blast to drive in the slippery conditions.
for 95% of the winter, you don't really need awd...
its never THAT bad for that long

                            thats what I'm thinking.......
i wanna know the condition of the belts and such
low kms is nice, but i dont know if i want a ten year old car, thats been driven 1 year, and parked somewhere for the rest of its life..
its not very smart to buy a used car without an inspection anyways

I test drive an e46 m3 a while back now. I actually didn't like it. I found it kind of boring as well, the torque on my jetta smokes it and feels way more fun. Now throw an HPF kit on one....
