Hello-
Time to let her go, need to cut down the fleet.
1983 jetta coupe has 300,000km on body not sure on engine.
The good-
- has new front brakes(vented rotors not solid)
- new right tie rod
- new alt.
- fresh oil change before parking
- comes with rare euro grill and head lights as well north american grill and hyseadlights
- body is in great shape for a mk1. Seats are mint. Interior needs a couple small bits to make it complete(dash knee bar, shifter knob display, dash bezel cracked).
- crack free windshield
Bad-
Has some electrical issues to repair them it needs.
- Jetronic system( as the og one is mia) i picked up one and the wiring which is in the trunk. i never got a chance to install was to busy.
- Fuel pump relay-mia as well- PO hardwired to rocker switch. I tried finding one but have had no luck as of yet.
I was driving it for the first part of winter but then found a new tdi i couldn't pass up and since have just parked it. Even with the electrical it runs and drives but needs some TLC. I waxed the whole car before winter to protect the paint. It would make a great project car/swap candidate or a fixer upper. A good tune up and electrical fixed and it would be a great little whip. The engine is a 1.8 8v swapped out of a 84gti and is ok mechanically. I just want to see it back in its former glory and can't have 4 vw's! Comes with 14" 10 hole steelies with all season tires. But can also include 13" vw votex wheels with winter tires for an additional $150.
Looking for $850 or $1000 with both sets of wheels. For the price it's a great deal i think for how good the shell is and with the euro grill/light setup. Just need it gone!
