Hi all,
Getting rid of my VR6 GTI. My black one's on the road and I have 2 cars too many.
The story: I picked this car up about 3-4 years ago and brought it back to life. The PO had blown through a guard rail and offroaded with it a bit in her drunken stupor. As a result, the Airbag light comes on most of the time. Apparently to fix that, you need to pick up another ECU, which I couldn't care to do. The Airbags didn't deploy.
1996 GTI VR6
Tornado red (blue hood)
205,000 on ODO
Engine has about the same (could use new chains just to be safe)
rust in the usual spots (rear right fender - I have a patch panel that will come with the car, rear hatch)
New brakes (rotors, pads, all around)
New e-brake cable
New clutch, PP and flywheel - 5000 K ago.
no stereo
shifter could use alignment
A/C deleted (CEL is thrown due to no SAI)
Was told the rear axle was bent by CDN tire. picked up another one. I'll be putting it in this weekend. If you want to save $250, buy the car before I do that
Spare drivers door (the current one has a dent in it from being flung open. This one is color matched.
Handbrake light sometimes comes on (easy fix. i just haven't done it yet)
Will need a windshield (what Alberta car doesn't)
Comes with a big tupperware with some spare lights, electronic bits that I haven't put on yet, a couple sets of fogs and other bits and bobs.
2 of the 4 rims are curbed pretty bad (one has a chunk missing from the lip). All hold air.
The project

This car was, up until last week, my daily driver, so for the price, you could even consider it a VR6 swap that drives itself to your house.
$1500 OBO (it'll be firm if I get the Axle in this coming weekend and replace the door)
