Northland was doing a few blanks when I was there.

My question is suppose the battery is indeed dead (or removed) - how do you get in the car? (Think 3-4 years from now, or if you leave the lights on for a week while on holiday). I know it would be rare, and even if a locksmith could open the door, I'd be ok with that. But I wouldn't want to have to smash the window.

Um, you kinda have to replace both no? The locks are the same, so if a scredriver force works on the door, it will work on the hatch?

Most thieves just want to open the door and get what ever is in there.... ya they can go through the hatch but a little more obviuos when your crawlin through the hatch....

plus if they really want in they will just bust out the window

Dale, do you get a deal at the dealership or can anyone get that price? Which shop in E-town did you go to?

Off-topic, which shop in E-town would you recommend for service work?

You need the plastic cap as the cap with the key hole in will not clip onto the new blank insert. Also the new plastic cap will not fit obver the original key lock as the key tumbler has a raised face

As for service work I always go to SouthGate VW they have always treated me fair and with respect plus they are mod freindly.

hey, ya i still got a few. they're not black, the black you see there is the inside of it, the outside is that other color, which is primer i think.
