  • Split Second MBC

Just a feeler for my like new Split Second manual boost controller, which I believe can be used in any 1.8T.

Had it in my GTI for over a year and no problems. Its a good idea to have a boost gauge so you can fine tune it. Split second claims 35hp & 45ft/tq at the wheels at 14.5psi. But my boost gauge shows it holding 17psi. A little less power than a good chip, but if you want to retain your warranty I think this is the way to go.

C1 disconnected it when they installed my stage 2, which comes with its own software. So I dont really have a use for it.

    Offers or interest?

What use would this have on a chipped 1.8T?

On a chipped car, you could use it for lowering boost...

Yep, boost can be adjusted in real time from approx. 6psi to 17psi. Not sure how it would work with a chipped car though.

Kris, you've been experimenting with this sort of thing for a while now, right?

Yeah it is a tricky business. You could even use your cpmtroller to adjust boost even higher with some modifications.

I have tried two different MBC setups but both died because I used cheap (Home Depot quality) parts.
