Strangely enough... I might need the back. But I don't know if its just the pads, rotors or both...
Will try and find out this week if I need them. Will PM if I need them so don't wait for me!

Does it make a difference if the front are OEM and the rear are these...?

It is best to do rear pads and rotors at the same time, you might get warping and vibration with just new pads and no rotors. These are OEM fitment and quality, will have no problem if the fronts are OEM and the rears are these. Let me know, and I can sell the rears to you and the fronts to onepointeightdub

What kind of pads are these? If they are good, i'd be interested in the whole shebang.

                              Re: FS: Brake help

I bought the above brakes and I needed the rears, I split this with another member (onepoint eight dub I think).

I set about changing my rear brakes the other week. I got a friend who is very experienced in doing this to help me and show me through this.
My current rear brakes are disks and not cross drilled. The new brakes are cross drilled.
Unfortunately we hit a few problems. We found the new drilled rotors did not fully match up with the holes on the old ones.

New rotors, its not a great pic, but I hope it gives some idea.

                              Old rotors,

                              From Brakes

My friend was not happy about this but we made it work. We took the old brake pads off and when we tried to put on the new ones, we found they would not go on. By this I mean we have to force them on, they would not slid back and fourth if a brake pedal was pressed(I have made a video of this, but im currently trying to work out how to post this on here). We thought perhaps we were doing something wrong, so we double checked vortex. My friend was not happy, as he has changed many brakes before and said this does not feel right. From a safety standpoint we stopped and put the old rotors and pads back on.

I contacted the person I bought them off (Joel, Red MK2 GTI) and explained that they do not fit. Unfortunately he won't give my money back as he says they were sold for cash and if I wanted a warranty I would have paid double. In shorty Im not getting my money back. How charming.... I guess the risk comes part and parcel of buying on a forum, So I can't complain I guess.
I am a bit disappointed as I was trying to save money as I don't earn much. At the the same time build my tool set up and learn about this with the intention of helping others in the future. But I guess you live and learn...

So im stuck with these brakes. I spoke to a very nice chap at the August meet, Chris I think (Green Audi TT) and he mentioned filing the sides of the pads down. I mentioned the rotors don't fit properly. He mentioned (feel free to correct me if I am wrong) they could be for a 20th edition GTI.

I don't really know. But I have a couple of questions if anyone has any info it would much appreciated.
Has anyone used these brakes before and has any similar problems? Or do I have a lemon set? I paid $140 for these (Pic below).

                              From Brakes

Im going to buy a new set of rear brakes. I don't need anything fancy, just plain OEM rear brakes. I have a friend at a Suberau dealership who has offered to help me order brakes for my car to save some money. Can someone recommend a brand or make of brakes what would be a direct replacement of my rears. (Car is VW MK4 2004 GTI)

                              Any advice appreciated.
