Do they still work, why are you getting rid of them, could these be reprogrammed?
yeah they work. I programmed them to my car and it would lock/unlock the car fine. You can't start the car though because of the immo3 chip. I can't give you input on reprogramming but probably someone else can chime in? Selling because I don't need 4 keyfobs and I don't know what to do with these...
So after the dealer reprogrammes it, can the key start the car? Or is the programme strictly for opening and locking of the car?
I believe so. It can open the car without having to go through the dealership but to program the immobilizer you need to get the chip reprogrammed. But these are not blanks. .. They have been cut

they should be able to start the car.. i got new keys with my allroad that are cut but i don't think the cutting means crap on these cars its all to do the the chip in the key
i even received a plastic emergency key that still has a chip in it.. its litterally just the blade part of the key all plastic
dealer programs it and matches it to your imobilizer using a secret key code (SKC) generated by them using your vin and cluster..
