  • Fs: Mk4 Tdi

not my car. I messaged the dude, and the car does have a salvage / rebuilt title. cheap though, and would probably make a good daily for someone.

Might be why it's not selling and he's dropping the price pretty much every day.

I thought the price was about right for a none salvage but with a salvage title you never know what you are going to get.

Way too high for a salvage title, his initial price of 9k for a 200,000km mk4 with a beat up looking interior would be okay if it didn't have the salvage title at all...

Down to 7k now, getting closer but I would say has to go lower still

There is very little resale for anyone who buys this car, if any. Its basically going to be yours for as many more km as you can put on the car before it becomes too expensive to be worth it and you have to just give it away or junk it.

my impression to post the ad was the fact that the car could probably be had for close to $6k, maybe less (it's obvious no one is jumping at the chance to pick it up). sell the 17" wheels and tires off... and have a great winter / commuter-car for cheap.

He said it was t-boned in the front left but was all fixed.... What kind of things should be checked before considering this?

I got mine for $4000, and it didn't have an official salvage title, but if I look at the front bumper really closely on the passenger side, it doesn't line up the way it's suppose to and you can tell that it had been in a collision of some sorts. Mine was a 2000 Blue MK4 TDI Jetta though.
