    99.5 TDI Golf For Sale

    99.5 Golf TDI

    Well, the car has been in an accident and requires some inner body/outer body work done to it. The car has approximately 330,000 km on it. It is a 99.5, so it's got the new body style. It's a 2 door Golf, 5 speed, manual windows, power locks, Air conditioning. The car has a brand new vr6 clutch kit that has only about 10,000 km's on it. The timing belt has only 30,000 km's on it. The turbo is pretty new and only has about 30,000 km's on it. It has a good 120 amp alternator, Glow plugs only have 20,000 km's on them. There is also a skid metal skid plate that I might throw in there as well. The rad, the hood, the headlights, the quarter panel's, and some minor inner body damage is all that need's to be replaced. Both of the airbag's have been deployed.I would have fixed the car and done the work myself, but I don't have the proper tool's to do inner-body work.

    Pretty much this car is for someone that know's how to do inner-body work and has the tool's/garage to do it with. I just don't have either, seeing as I am renting the house I am in, so I need to sell it for what I can. I'm looking for $5000 OBO for the whole thing, which is quite a steal considering all the new parts and work I have put into it. The car is not driveable, and would need to get towed away.         And it's not a write off? $5K Seems high, a car without that damage would only sell for maybe $7K and to fix the problems is going to be more than $2000, just my thoughts, good luck with the sale!

          Since the airbags alone would cost $2-3k depending on the airbag control module I too believe your asking price is high. You might want to try to part it out to a wrecker etc first as I don't think anyone is going to put the $5-10K (min cost to get anything into a body shop right now) to fix it.

            The accident was my fault, so I didn't go through insurance seeing as the other guy walked away with minimal to no damage at all. Yeah your right, 5k is pretty high, but your walking away with a full car, with a good tranny, new clutch, new turbo, timing-belt was recently done, skid plate, the clutch and turbo alone are over $1500 brand new, and they are not even broken-in yet. The engine didn't get damaged in the crash. The airbag's would cost quite a bit, unless you only replaced the passenger one and just replaced the stearing wheel with a "momo" one or something. I will take your advice though and lower the price to $4000. This includes the skidplate as well now.

                If I had the tool's and experience, I would fix it. Come on guy's, you know this is a steal for $4000. An engine swap goes for no less than the $3000 range, and this includes a lot more than just an engine. I even forgot to mention that I took out the Cat, and replaced it with a 2 1/2 inch straight pipe, which was not a cheap replacement either. If you have the right tool's and experience to fix the car, it wouldn't cost you more than $2000, and that's with the airbags to get it back on the road. I just don't have the experience or tool's or else I would be doing this myself.

                    I've been pulled over before, If you remove factory installed safety device your car is towed on the spot.

                      gotta tell ya the only way you are going to get anything arround even 2k is sell the pulled engine and transmision and part it out . but with 300k on the engine its a $900-1200 combo from the wreakers including the turbo . so really you are asking tooo much .

                            There's a difference though. You don't know the mileage on the timing belt, the turbo, the clutch, and other parts if you get your engine swap from a wrecker. I'm giving you the mileage on the parts, so you know they are gauranteed to work for many more km's. If I don't get anyone interested in the next month or two, I might take your advice and part out the car, but I would really like to see someone just take the whole thing and fix it up, or part what they want from it.
