Although I’m sure I will regret this decision in the short run, I have decided to part with my Audi.
I’m offering for sale a car that is very unique and rare by Canadian standards. It’s a 1999.0 Audi A4 Avant equipped with a 5-speed transmission and 1.8 turbo engine. Of course, it’s a Quattro!
A little history:
After writing off my Vw Golf diesel back in December 2006 I was without a car. I was browsing through the trader few months later and I noticed this car. Immediately I was blown away. Being Inadmissible on the RIV list, I though it could not be possible. I grabbed the phone truck part and called the guy, it checked out. Car was insured, registered and fully complied to Canadian Standards. The guy did not release the details to me of how it was done as he was going to bring in a B5 S4 Avant for himself but wanted a car to “try it out” with. Fast forward for a bit, I went down, verified everything, and bought the car for $13,400 with a few issues with it.
The guy I bought the car of had the timing belt snap on him shortly after he got. He has the engine rebuilt by a couple of guys from some local VW shop in Calgary. He gave me receipts of for everything. This happened at 163,xxx Miles. Car currently has 182,xxx and is running like new.
The car has some imperfections on the body but they are nothing out of the ordinary. The car has not been ever wrecked and the paint is all original (except for the black painted roof). Mechanically the car is flawless and everything works including heated seats on the drivers seat! The center LCD has lines going through it, and the climatronic has pixellation as well, everything works but just minor quirks that are common in the B5.
The car is in an extremely rare colour combination; Hibiscus Red exterior, and peanut interior. Anybody that sees the car is always impressed how great it looks.
What is done to the car:
Performance/Exterior
1. Giac Flashed ECU – 400$
2. MBC set at 15psi
3. Roof was painted “red sand black pearl” which is black with a red flake that matches the rest of the car – 1200$
4. EuroGear Carbon Fiber hood – 850$
5. Custom Tan Suede headliner and pillars - DIY
6. OEM 1pc Ecodes with 4300K Hids – 550$
7. B&M Short throw shifter – 180$
8. Center Vent Boost guage – 50$
Maintenance:
1. ABS Module Replaced
2. Front Right drive shaft
3. Front right tie rod
4. New Windshield
5. All new belts/rollers up front (1100$ at dealership)
6. New Passenger side airbag (old one died)
7. Brake fluid flush November 2007
8. New coolant/coolant sensor April 2007
9. Ignition Control Module – June 2006
10. Driver seat completely reupholstered both bottom and top with OEM parts
- i probably missed some stuff...
Currently the car has brand new Michellin X-ice tires on it and handles like a dream in the snow. Never gets stuck and a pleasure to drive on snow. I hate to sell the car after doing so many things to it but school is more important at the moment and an Mk2 diesel Volkswagen just makes more sense for me right now.
The car is running at tip top condition, steering is tight, brakes are great, new tires, it needs nothing. Body is in great shape with a few dents and scratches. Interior is pretty close to mint with some minor imperfections (I’m anal when it comes to cars). Washed and waxed as often as I could.
The car as it sits right now has over 2,500$ in mods and around 4,000$ in maintenance on my part. Factoring in I paid 13,400$ for the car, I’m in close to 20,000$. Obviously I won’t get that out of it, given the rarity of the car and all that I have done to it. I can reasonably price it out at 13,000$obo making all the maintenance/mods free! I would like to move the car within by the 1st of April, 2008. Car is available for inspection/compression tests whatever you like, I have nothing to hide.
ahahhha, probably after i drove it. Eveytime somebody calls about it I get sick to my stomach to get rid of it.... I want a BT, and s4 body on it!.... ; - ( truly rare chance to own this car, it will not hang around much longer....
i hear that. i BT'd mine with a T3/T4 .63 trim and huge injectors. it is gnarly with the boost turned up. i can only imagine the fun quattro would add.
good luck with the sale. if some miracle buyer steps up and buys mine, consider this thing sold!
