WTB: Mk3 Golf / GTI in Edmonton

Just like the topic says! Probably two or three weeks from now...don't want to spend more than $2500 or so. Simple mechanical problems are alright, but I'd rather no rust :P Shoot me an email at andy.mikula@gmail.com if you have anything. Yeah, with that kind of budget, you should be looking at a MKII.

280k, pretty high but still runs/drives perfect. never had to plug it in during the winter. Only thing i have had to replace is a coolant line that was leaking. AC still blows ice cold. Also doesnt burn oil. From between oil changes at full it as about 3mm under full at the time to change. I have no history on the car. It was bought from a lot so it is possible that the engine could have been replaced/rebuilt. It has also been repainted the factory color.

wow, sounds nice. considering the price, i would say those kms aren't too bad. and it looks like it's pretty well kept. dang, i am kind of interested - but i'm in calgary and wouldn't be able to get to edmonton for another 2 or 3 weeks to even look at it.

sounds to me like it could have a re-built status.....check your registration for status........it should say re-built or Active, if it says rebuilt or something rather..then it has been written off before........

it says active. it is a 93. was bought from a lot in the beginning of december when i crashed my 180sx. I am in no rush to sell as i drive it to and from work every day. so whenever you get a chance. I am going to calgary this coming weekend but dont know if i am going in my sisters car or mine yet. I will let you know. I wasnt planning on selling it for a couple months but no big deal. the reason for sale is i want a tdi mk4.

hey man if you can figure out a way to bring it to calgary this weekend that would be awesome. i'm not in a huge rush but I could really use a car before April 2nd. As long as there is nothing seriously wrong with it I would probably pick it up from you. i guess that might not be very conveinent for you to have to bring 2 cars or whatever to calgary, but let me know what you can swing and hopefully we can hook up this weekend. I'd be available for most of the day on saturday, and early afternoon on sunday.

Ha Ha! I was thinking the same thing Colin. Decent looking car but the word "mint" doesn't come to mind. It looks like two 300lb people sat in those seats for the majority of its life!

That's what I like to call the "CL Sag". Those seats are horrible and they lose their "stuffing" out the back as they don't have foam like the higher end golfs/jettas. They must stuff them with straw or something as that's almost what it looks like. My drivers side on my CL was (and still is) like that. Had to vacuum that crap up once a week. So if you sit in that seat you'll be sitting on the side rails of the seat which is REALLY uncomfortable.

FYI: for the individual who is considering this car, I sold my 96 CL with 140-150,000kms with a few mods and winters with summer wheels for $5000.
